Video Campaign as part of GET UP EU-Funded project promoting gender equality

A video campaign by eight international partners coordinated by UIL, the Italian Labour Trade Union, has been launched promoting gender equality. The three subjects for the series of videos produced reflect the main topics of the project, which are #wasteoftalent #genderpaygap and #worklifebalance.

The videos are as follows:

(1) #GetUp_Project – WASTE OF TALENT
When you were a child, have you ever been told to act like a girl or a boy? Gender stereotypes affect everyone since their birth. Often they are perpetuated without any intentions to harm. Despite all good intentions, children need to be supported in their individual growth, whether they love rugby or volleyball, science or poetry irrespective of their gender. Watch and share our video about talent waste, join the fight for gender equality in education!

(2) #GetUp_Project – GENDER PAY GAP
In the European Union, women earn on average 16% less than men. For the same job. Why? If you agree with us that men and women should get the same salary for the same job, don’t just nod. Watch and share our video, join the fight against gender pay gap!

(3) #GetUp_Project – WORK LIFE BALANCE
In the European Union, working women spend on average 26 hours/week on unpaid care and housework. Working men… 9 hours. Why do men spend only one third of the time compared to women on activities such as cleaning, ironing, and taking care of their babies? And – most importantly – can we change that? We can! Watch and share our video about work-life balance, join the fight for a better work-life balance!

This campaign is part of the project “GET UP – Gender Equality Training to overcome Unfair discrimination Practices in education and labour market“, which seeks to address the stereotyping of educational and career choices and to promote gender equality in education, training and career guidance. It also seeks to ensure that work practices promote gender equality, and do not reinforce stereotypes, gender segregation and inequalities. This project is co-funded by the RIGHTS, EQUALITY AND CITIZENSHIP/JUSTICE PROGRAMME of the European Union.
